Borgo Langiano Resort & Spa wins a prestigious award dedicated to design studios, for unique lifestyle and design hotels in Italy in the Genius Loci category.

DESCRIPTION OF THE CONCEPT:

THE STRUCTURE
The project is the work of Studio Bizzarro & Partners, specialized in the design of places of Hospitality and Wellness with a great emotional impact.
The works involved the renovation and expansion of the wellness center, which now offers a total covered area of about 2,000 square meters, created through the addition of a new building to the existing Borgo Benessere. On the first floor of this new building, some suites of great impact have been created and, on the lower floor, the expansion of the wellness center with the creation of a series of cabins, dressing rooms and Spa suites dedicated to treatments and body care, as well as saunas, steam bath, emotional and energizing showers, spaces for rest and refreshment.
These spaces overlook the outside with large panoramic windows, where the lawn and the existing trees enjoy the backdrop of the magnificent hills that surround them. Here, two large swimming pools have been created, one of which is heated and accessible directly from the inside, equipped with hydromassage, massage beds and water games and another, larger and infinity edge, which invites you to take a refreshing dip.
The surrounding greenery is equipped with groups of relaxation beds scattered across the vast shaded lawns.
On the upper floor, some Suites have been created with different designs and equipment, to offer a prestigious standing to demanding guests, eager to experience a unique wellness experience.
The project wanted to give the complex a strong and harmonious connotation, with a clear functional characterization that combines the privileged panoramic position with an offer of integrated wellness, the relationship with the reference territory and the excellent attention to design.

THE SPA AREA
The Spa is located in a new building, connected to the adjacent building called “Borgo Benessere”. The entrance welcomes visitors with a panoramic window crowned by a large sloping roof. From the entrance you can access the floor below, where the Spa and all the activities related to Wellness are located.
Thanks to earth movements and the gentle slope of the land, the Spa is on one side leaning against the hill and on the other it overlooks the garden and a scenic crown of hills with large panoramic windows.
You are welcomed into the Spa by the reception, which acts as a hub between the services, the wet area, the treatment dressing room area and the three different pools.
A Refreshment area has also been created here, equipped with a health bar/restaurant and a relaxation area equipped with comfortable sofas, chaise longues and tables to comfortably enjoy food and drinks.
From this area you can access the wet area of the Spa, where through a sensory path you can use a series of treatment cabins, a Private Spa and other wellness equipment. Among these, a “water paradise” with emotional showers featuring different settings such as “cold mist” and “tropical shower”, a steam bath, a sauna, a Kneipp path with two different hot and cold immersion reaction tanks, a Hay Cabin, a Halotherapy cabin and a further large relaxation area.
From the inside, there is direct access to an external heated play pool of about 50 square meters equipped with water blades for neck massages, submerged beds, barrels with hydro jets at different heights, an area with hydromassage seats where you can relax in the water while enjoying the view of the surrounding landscape.

THE SUITES
On the ground floor, as a clear architectural sign, a large glass volume was created that serves as a connection between the building of the rooms and the body of the new Suites. This glass volume also serves as an entrance to the Spa for guests who are not residents of the structure. From here a scenic spiral staircase and a lift lead to the lower floor where the Spa is located. This entrance volume also acts as a hub that connects the building that houses the rooms of the Borgo Benessere and that of the new large Suites.
The latter are positioned on the site of the Spa and are oriented along the East West direction forming an angle of about 140° with the existing building. This planimetric choice was chosen to give a privileged panoramic view of the surrounding hills and the green area below used as a solarium integrated into the greenery, creating a real “Amphitheatre of Wellbeing”.
The Suites are characterised by materials and colours in continuity with the territory and have a single sloping pitch roof, contained by stone walls and completed by large windows in wood and glass that overlook two diametrically opposed loggias, in order to exploit the morning and afternoon sun.
The suites have a surface area of approximately 50 square meters, with a living area consisting of a living room and dining area and a sleeping area with bathroom and shower cabin, a hydromassage tub overlooking the surrounding panorama and a steam bath.
